Out-of-the-box thinking is nothing new to entrepreneur Kary Radestock. With 25 years in commercial branding and packaging she recognized the enormous opportunity the cannabis industry could bring to a packaging business. After spending six months doing research and building a business plan, her company decided against moving forward and asked Kary to give up the idea. Instead she struck out on her own, forming Hippo Premium Packaging and the solutions she’s brought to that industry won her the title of “Cannabis Industry Woman of the Year.” In her session, Kary will share:
- How she recognized an opportunity and the steps she took to migrate from mainstream commercial print/packaging into the burgeoning cannabis industry.
- Her journey from a VP/Biz Dev to an entrepreneur and learn what it took to make the shift.
- The pitfalls, difficulties and successes she’s had along the way, and her plan for continual innovation in building a successful cannabis packaging company.
